Modern man has been neutered. To me, a man is someone who is strong, if not physically then in character. He is someone who believes in more than what is best for only him. He is strong enough to take care of more than just himself. He wants to take care of his world and those around him. A man is someone who’s actions speak louder than his words, louder than his possessions, his clothes or the exhaust pipes on his vehicle. He is someone who doesn’t spend all his energy trying to look tough and instead uses that energy for challenges he undertakes that are tough. Someone who isn’t looking for the easiest way to make a lot of money from a system that is damaging the world around him, but someone who is looking for the best way to live a good life. And a good life to him is one that leaves his world and the people in it in better condition than he found it. Someone who takes responsibility for what he knows is right and what he knows is wrong. Someone who doesn’t simply say “Oh well, that’s just the way it is. There’s nothing I can do about it.” Someone who lives according to what he knows is right even if it means he must temporarily go without things he wants for himself because more importantly what he wants for himself is what is best for his world. He is someone whose most important relationship is the one he has with his own conscience, his own spirit, because it is what keeps him connected to those he loves and the world. He knows if he betrays it, it will make him put up a wall blocking out parts of life that might threaten him even including those close to him because he alone can not take on the world only he and his spirit can. He knows if he has the strength to stand up for what he knows is right others may criticize him or turn their back on him, but he, also, knows there are other men like him out there and they will respect him because he is not someone who is threatened by other strong men, but inspired by them. He is someone who does not stand around talking or complaining about a problem, but quietly takes action to fix it.

Whose country is this yours or your government’s. If you walk down YOUR street and see a piece of trash, pick the damn thing up instead of complaining about the pot holes. It's not your street that you're cleaning, it's your soul that you're saving. Picking up the trash is only the byproduct of preserving the connection you have with your spirit. You are not givning up. You are saving what is most important and it should be an honor not something demeaning. Take responsibility for your world, your home, your town, your country and stop leaving it up to someone else like your government to do it then shake your head about how bad things are getting when they don’t. I don’t want anyone caring about my home for me. It’s my home and I want it to represent me. I don’t want anyone else or a machine doing my work for me. Work is what makes me strong. Work is a completely natural part of life and I don’t want to avoid living. I don’t want to buy food that came half way across the world. I want to learn how to grow my own from the land I live in. I don’t want to be dependent on anything that keeps me complacent or makes me weak and lazy OR keeps me too busy or distracted to notice what’s going on around me. If you need to work to make all kinds of money then you wonder why your relationships fall apart, get rid of some of the things you spend so much money on and get back the people you lost. Being your best manifests itself differently in each man, in each person, but the result is always the same. You meet what you don't understand with openess and meet what you don't believe in with conviction.
